“All is Lost” gained much of its buzz from Robert Redford’s performance. This buzz might mean for some tech nominations.

These two categories usually go hand in hand and this year it seems that both categories will (for the most part) match up in nominees and their ultimate winner. Gravity is the one to beat here. The technical achievement was the main point of praise for the film so it is likely they sweep the tech categories.

The wild card here is Best Picture frontrunner 12 Years a Slave. If they Academy really loves them, the love could spread throughout the tech categories.
